How to Boost Your Immune System: 3 Potent Strategies

Hot-and-Cold Contrast Shower 

One of the most effective ways to support your  immune system is to take a hot and cold shower. Also known as a contrast shower, the change in temperature during this treatment increases blood circulation which can speed the delivery of oxygen to cells and tissues, while also speeding the removal of waste, and accelerating the transportation of white blood cells to  sites of invasion by disease-causing organisms.

Cold showers or baths are known to stimulate white blood cell production. White blood cells, or leukocytes, are an important part of your immune system as they attack and destroy pathogens that enter the body and can make you sick. Contrast showers are a powerful strategy for boosting immunity.

 

 

Contrast Shower How-To

Warm the body in the shower then turn the shower to hot for 3 minutes. The water should be as hot as you can handle. Immediately after this turn the shower to cold,  as cold as you can take, for 30 seconds. Repeat this process 3 times ending with cold. Dry off and cover all limbs. It’s also important to protect your feet from cold with socks or slippers. Go straight to bed for ½ an hour to 1 hour. You can do this shower as often as needed. 

 

 

 

Wash Your Fruits And Vegetables 

Have you ever thought about how many hands have touched your fruits and vegetables before you eat them? One way to reduce your exposure to pathogens from the foods you eat is to thoroughly wash all your fruits and vegetables. To kill more germs, you can clean your fruit and vegetables in vinegar or a homemade fruit and veggie wash

 

To clean most fruits and vegetables:

 

  1. Mix a solution of 1 cup vinegar to 4 cups water then add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Shake well to combine. Place inside a spray bottle, 
  2. Spray your fruit and vegetables and let sit for 2-5 minutes.
  3. Rinse with fresh cool water and use a vegetable scrub brush on thicker-skinned produce.
  4. Pat dry with paper towel or clean cloth.

 

To clean leafy greens:

  1. Place your greens into a clean glass or metal bowl. Fill the bowl with a solution of 1 cup vinegar to 4 parts water, then add a tablespoon of salt
  2. Let the greens sit in the solution for 2-5 minutes.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with cold water either in a colander or the basket of a salad spinner.
  4. Dry the greens with paper towels or give them a run through a salad spinner. It is best to do this right before you eat the greens, as excess moisture can lead to decay.

 

If your produce is organic you can use them with peel and all. Some fruits have beneficial properties in the skin or peel. Grapefruit especially has healing and immune boosting properties in the white flesh that’s just under the rind. If you must peel your grapefruit, be sure to leave the thick white part on the fruit when you eat it.

Immunity Booster Drinks

With antibiotic resistant pathogens on the rise, some prescription antibiotics are becoming less effective. The good news is, some of the foods we eat are powerful natural antibiotics and disease organisms cannot become resistant to them. These immunity booster drinks are easy to make and are effective against germs that can make you sick.

 

Natural Penicillin 

1 whole grapefruit, peel and all 

3 lemons

2 garlic bulbs 

1 medium-sized onion

6 cups of water

 

Cut fruit, garlic and onion and put in a pot with 6 cups of water. Bring to a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. Strain and drink 3/4 cup every 1/2 hour throughout the day. Make more as needed.

 

Immunity Shots

3 lemons, peeled 

1 orange, peeled

4 cups pineapple juice or 1/2 a pineapple

1 inch of Ginger

1 bulb of Garlic, separated into cloves and peeled.

1/8 tsp 90,000 heat units of Cayenne 

 

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth. Drink 1 cup before bed for preventative measures. 

 

If you have symptoms, drink 3/4 cup at least 3 times throughout the day.
